This is my @tessutifabrics Mandy Boat Tee sewn up in the cutest caramel striped jersey grabbed at Tessuti last year.

I’ve made this pattern many times over the year so don’t have much else to say except it’s a quick and fun sew and the perfect design for stripes 🥰

And fun fact: I always answer to Amanda, Manda to a few and only Mandy to one person who uses it ironically. What can I say? I’m just not a Mandy 🤷🏼‍♀️

A classic for a reason!

In my first year of sewing I tackled the @tessutifabrics Mandy Boat Tee (B:116cm W:104cm H:126cm) and over the years have made a whole bunch in lots of different fabrics. There is something about the fitted arms and swishy body that I just love.

When I was in Melbourne last year I found this glorious knit with a stripe that makes me think of a tasty caramel tart. Given I found it at Tessuti it seemed fitting to add another boat tee to the collection.

So here we are—tasty caramel striped tee and I’m not mad about it! 🥧

🍊🤩🍊

I am so beyond delighted with how this @peppermintmagazine + @sewtogrow Samford Set (B:57” W:50” H:60”) turned out! I love both pieces individually and they make just the cutest set 🥰

The fabric is the @spoonflower cotton sateen featuring “Summer Fruits” from @adenajdesign. I have only used Spoonflower for cotton twill once before so was super delighted with the feel of the steen. It was a dream to sew and has just the right amount of structure for this set. It also forgave the buttonholes being unpicked after I sewed them on the wrong side. There was a couple of threads shift but otherwise held up well.

This was a seriously satisfying project—I cut the pieces out one afternoon and sewed the entire top (sans buttonholes) in one evening and all of the shorts in another evening. I omitted the drawstring on the shorts but otherwise followed the designs as is. For next time I would go up another size in the shorts but only because I like my PJs to be over sized.

And finally, I love the top so much I am going to wear it as a separate. 🤩

Also to note, for those keen on the pattern it is available for free with the print and digital versions of Peppermint Magazine or through their website with a variety of payment tiers.

Anyways, I’m going to go lounge around the house like a fancy human in my new PJs because I can!!!

I just had to share these because they are so dang cute! This is the shorts part of the @peppermintmagazine and @sewtogrow Samford Set and I love them so so much!

I made these without the drawstring—personal aversion to drawstrings for this gal—and added a cute lil @m_o_l_l_y_m_o_l_l_y to the back pocket. Swipe to see 👉🏻

I finally grabbed buttons and just need to sew them on and my set is done. I so can’t wait!

And thank you to everyone’s thoughts on the best citrus! We have lots of citrus dance here—viva la yuzu!

There are no apologies here because I’m giddy with a second sewing project in a row actually working. Woot!

This is the @peppermintmagazine + @sewtogrow Samford Set top that I’m sewing up in a gorgeous cotton sateen from @spoonflower.

With the weather turning chilly the citrus explosion is definitely the energy I’m after 🤩

I cut this pattern out on the weekend and legitimately got everything pulled together except for the buttonholes in 2.5 hours last night. I don’t know if the sewing gods were smiling on me or if the universe decided I needed a win after a few failed projects, but I’ll take it! Though as I look closer I can see some basting stitches I need to rip out so maybe it was just because I was rushing 😆

Next up is making the shorts and then I’ll be having to take my top travelling to find some buttons! I kind of want wooden ones but let’s see what’s out there!

🍊 And a quick question: what is your favourite citrus? I have been obsessed with yuzu since we first had in Japan a few years ago. My goal is to find a yuzu tree to plant this year! Honourable mention for me goes to limes!

It is love! This is my @deer_and_doe_patterns Cir

It is love!

This is my @deer_and_doe_patterns Circee Dress sewn up in HollyWood Viscose Georgette from @wearethefabricstore and it is the floaty, Steve Nicks-vibe dress of my dreams!

This was a pretty straightforward sew with the only zesty parts being the shifty viscose (as per normal for me). I nearly always have my quilting foot on my lil mechanical Janome and this really helped keep everything stable and feeding through evenly.

For the folks with a larger bust—the coverage is good and I haven’t had any gaping situations yet.

And the most important part—how fun is it to swish the sleeves? I can report it is AMAZING! Swipe to see a photo of the the frock in full twirl mode!
